Mer Doon's operating budget for one home is approximately $5000-6000 a month, including food, clothing, personal supplies, utilities, medical and dental expenses, transportation, and salaries for full-time and part-time staff. For 2008-2009, tuition for four girls will be subsidized by the Armenian Educational Foundation. Tuition for the remaining residents is paid for by Mer Doon using donations from the Diaspora.  Mer Doon also supplies each resident with books and other educational supplies, including materials for crafts and carpet weaving. In addition, the facility is still in need of additional improvements, furniture and appliances, and the program will be expanding to include extracurricular and cultural activities as additional funds become available. In addition to monetary donations, the Board invites you to host or sponsor fund raising events for Mer Doon. • Field trips within Armenia to historical sites ($2500/year)
